Catholic Relief Services
A group of students that are inspired by the work of CRS in assisting the poor and disadvantaged outside the USA through discussion, reflection, and sponsorship of CRS programs.

Spiritan Campus Ministry and Just Youth work hard to promote a consistent ethic of life in all of our interactions and ministries.  One vital part of a consistent ethic of life is the understanding that all people throughout the world are connected by their common humanity. We believe that every person has been made in the image of God and is worthy of dignity and respect. At times it is easy to forget about our brothers and sisters throughout the world that live and suffer in poverty and oppression. But through our connection with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) we are reminded of the call to remain in solidarity with our brothers and sisters throughout the world.

Catholic Relief Services is an international relief and development agency founded in 1943 by the Catholic Bishops of the United States . Their mission is to assist the poor and disadvantaged, leveraging the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to alleviate human suffering, promote development of all people and to foster charity and justice throughout the world.

Working through local offices and an extensive network of partners, CRS operates on 5 continents and in over 90 countries. They aid the poor by first providing direct assistance where needed, then encouraging these people to help with their own development. Together, this fosters secure, productive, just communities that enable people to realize their potential.

As the official international relief and development agency of the US Catholic community, CRS is also committed to educating the people of the United States to fulfill their moral responsibilities toward our global brothers and sisters by helping the poor, working to remove the causes of poverty, and promoting social justice.

As the official international humanitarian agency of the U.S. Catholic community, CRS provides humanitarian relief and development assistance in eight major programming fields: We are inspired by the work of CRS in assisting their poor and disadvantaged outside the USA through awareness and sponsorship of CRS programs.  For more information about CRS and its programs go to www.catholicrelief.org or to http://www.crscampusconnection.org/index.html
