Evergreen

Evergreen is an enviromentally conscious organization that helps to educate the DU community on sustainability on-campus and works to keep our local neighborhoods clean and green. We collaborate with Facilities Management on Campus to help educate students and staff on recycling efforts available on campus as well as many of the new "green" upgrades being made to our campus buildings. Off-campus, we collaborate with the Uptown Partners of Pittsburgh working to keep the Uptown neighborhood that we are a part of a cleaner and greener place. Activities include Green Week during the fall semester, the Earth Day Fair and Spring Clean-Up during the spring semester as well monthly litter pick ups and educational oppurtunies throughout the year.

Check-in and breakfast are at 9am under Mellon Patio and lunch will be provided as well.  All students, faculty, and staff are welcome to participate! PLEASE WEAR CLOSE-TOED SHOES AND DUQUESNE CLOTHING THE DAY OF THE EVENT!  All Team Sign Up Sheets are due to the Spiritan Campus Ministry Center, Towers by Friday April 14th.    For more information, please contact Luci-Jo DiMaggio at X1405 or dimaggi171@duq.edu.

"Evergreen has enabled me to take a broader look at my actions and their effects. As a member, working on campus to improve recycling and encourage interest in respecting nature has been a rewarding process. Meeting in the Spiritan Campus Ministry Center as a group of students with similar interests develops friendships, built on believing and implementing a consistent ethic of life."

— Gretchen Chardos

"Being a part of Evergreen has shown me how the Pittsburgh community is really coming together to build a sustainable future, and we students have a critical and exciting part in that."

— Amy Boots
